Holiday Lights Maola Milk Merry Mile
2nd Street & the Boardwalk open nightly at 5:30

Come enjoy a new holiday experience to the boardwalk! The Holiday Lights Maola Milk Merry Mile is a nautical and holiday fantasy of lights spread over a dozen blocks – from 8th Street to 22nd Street.  This year’s light show will feature over 50 of our most popular, hand-picked displays along the boardwalk and beach. The entrance will still be at 2nd Street.

This shorter, more intimate light show features a shiny journey into nautical, holiday, and adventure lands – all along the beautiful Virginia Beach boardwalk.  Festive fish, jumping dolphins, frolicking porpoises – all in bright, colored lights against the clear night-time sky, are the stars of Holiday Lights Merry Mile. They are joined by Santa and his elves.

Drivers will be able to tune their car radio to a frequency to hear holiday music along the Holiday Lights at the Beach display, making it easy to see AND hear why this event has been named one of the Southeast Tourism Society’s “Top 20 November Events” and the American Bus Association’s “Top 100 Events in North America for 2011!”

Holiday Lights Maola Milk Merry Mile…open nightly at 5:30.  Hours of operation are 5:30pm-10:00pm Sunday through Thursday and 5:30pm-11:00pm Friday-Saturday.

2017 admission pricing:

$5 per vehicle Friday-Sunday and holidays

$4 per vehicle Monday-Thursday

$2 Military Mondays

$25 motorcoaches

All vehicles enter through the main entrance at 2nd Street. Show starts at 8th street.  Cash only is accepted at the gate.

Jingle Bell Jam
December 10, 2017 , 3-6pm
Sandler Center for the Performing Arts

Come experience a live concert performance by Santa Claus, himself, along with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra! This popular event is family friendly, so bring the kids. This Virginia Beach concert keeps coming back, year after year, and it’s really no wonder why. The Virginia Symphony Orchestra puts on an amazing show for everyone to love and share the holiday cheer. more details

Surf-n-Santa 5 Miler
December 16, 2017

Runners and race fans must check out this holiday run full of santas. All participants will receive a 5 piece Santa Suit and will set off into a nautical holiday wonderland against the Atlantic ocean. The event is held at twilight along the boardwalk so runners can enjoy a festive evening being mesmerized by the holiday spirit. This is not your ordinary marathon and always helps everyone get into the cheerful holiday spirit.

Planes Trains and Santa
November 24 – 26

The Military Aviation Museum in conjunction with the Tidewater Division of the National Model Railroad Association is bringing its 8th model train show to Virginia Beach. From November 24th through the 26th, model train enthusiasts can head to the Military Aviation Museum on Princess Anne Road to see intricate layouts by Tidewater O Gauge Association, South Hampton Roads N-Trak Club, Tidewater S Gauge Association, Tidewater Modular Railroad Club, and Tidewater Live Steamers, among others. Santa Claus pops in for a visit at 11 a.m. on both days. The standard daily admission ticket prices for the museum apply: $15 for adults. Children 12 and under get in free!  more event info

36th Annual Virginia Beach Christmas Market
November 24 – 26

There is no better place to kick-off your holiday shopping than at the Virginia Beach Christmas Market. Black Friday marks the beginning of this Virginia Beach holiday tradition with more than 250 fine artisans and crafters from more than 25 states. From November 24th through the 26th work off that extra slice of pumpkin pie with a stroll around the Virginia Beach Convention Center to explore what has been called one of the “100 Best Classic and Contemporary Craft Shows in the United States.” Peruse unique holiday gifts and decor or even special pieces to add to your own collection. Photographers, potters, jewelers and toy makers are just a small sampling of the handmade artisans selling their uniquely crafted pieces. Admission is priced at $8 for adults and $2 for children ages 6-12 and is good for all three days. This year, receive $1 off by bringing a canned food donation to the Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia. Admission is free with a donation of blood to the Red Cross. Find more details here.

India Fest

Come enjoy amazing Indian food and fun at India Fest at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. At the annual India Fest, hosted by The Asian Indians of Hampton Roads (AIHR).

The local Indian community presents the event for Hampton Roads residents who want to experience the culture and heritage of India with art, culture, garments, dance and food from the Indian subcontinent.

New this year will be free raffles for iPads, early bird specials, health check booths and free food sampling, Dhillon said. Food is always one of the event’s main draws – from naan (Indian bread) to chicken curry to dosa, a crepe made out of rice flour.
