
Virginia Beach commemorates the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War and honors the country’s prisoners of war and those missing in action (POW-MIA) with special events planned for Nov. 7-11.
Free, Public Events Include:
- The Moving Wall, a half-size traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., on display 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Nov. 7-11, at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, 1000 19th St., in Hall D.
- Military vehicles, displays and more at the Virginia Beach Convention Center
- Annual Tidewater Veterans Day Parade, 9 a.m., Nov. 11, starting at 16th Street and Atlantic Avenue in Virginia Beach
- Annual Tidewater Veterans Day Ceremony, 11 a.m., Nov. 11, at the Tidewater Veterans Memorial, across from the Virginia Beach Convention Center, 1000 19th St.
- MIA Ceremony, 10 a.m.-noon, Nov. 9, Virginia Beach Convention Center, Hall D. Reading of the names of 1,566 current MIAs from Vietnam, wreath-laying and the playing of Taps.
