Virginia Beach oceanfront
Sandstock is a beach-inspired variation on Woodstock. National and regional tribute bands cover songs from some of the greatest rockers in history. Rockers will crank out hit after hit on two beach stages at the Virginia Beach oceanfront! All performances, which are free to the public, will be held on dueling stages on the beach at 24th Street, adjacent to the 24th Street Park.

The popular Family Great Adventure Series is back at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront for another year of family fun and film watching on the beach under the stars. In July and August, eight evenings will feature a different movie with a corresponding family activity prior to the film. All movies and family activities are free and open to the public.

Over 200 Artists turn the Virginia Beach’s iconic three-mile boardwalk into a canvas of color! This year’s theme is a “World of Magic.” Participating artists receive a four-by-four-foot piece of real estate between 17th and 15th Streets to create a masterpiece. 200 competitors will compete and be scored by a panel of judges based on composition, use of color, theme and creativity. Winners will be awarded trophies and cash prizes in professional, amateur and youth divisions. The colorful competition takes place from 10 am to 5 pm.

The ViBe Creative District nonprofit is partnering with Commonwealth Brewing on a new concert series in ViBe Park. Three bands will play on ViBe Park’s performing arts stage from noon to 10pm providing the public with an opportunity to enjoy live music, pop-up vendors and craft beer. Visitors are encouraged to bring their favorite beach chair or a blanket to enjoy the music. The event series called “Commonwealth ViBez” is a collaboration between the nonprofit and the craft brewery that will feature the summer concert days where the drinks, food and music will all be themed for the occasion. details

Latin Fest features first-rate Latin music, good food, and more. National performers electrify a diverse audience with high-energy tunes that move the crowd to dance under the stars. Local and regional Latin acts take the stage and unite festival-goers with the rhythms of Salsa, Merengue, and Jazz. Headline performances take place on a giant stage on the beach at 24th Street. The Zumba fitness marathon begins at 8:00am on Saturday. Zumba is the Latin-inspired, easy-to-follow calorie-burning craze! Meet some of the area’s best instructors. Participate for one hour or all four! Vendors and cultural activities in the park round out the festival. Latin Fest is a FREE event.
